Key Performance Areas
- Develop and implement a comprehensive wastewater

infrastructure asset management plan in conjunction with

the current wastewater heads of departments
- Identify, define and undertake immediate, short
- and long-term

maintenance planning associated with wastewater infrastructure

(civil) and mechanical /electrical/process control systems (PCS)
- Identify, assess, evaluate, monitor and review risks to

wastewater infrastructure
- Prepare capital and operating estimates within a planned project

and monitor expenditure against the approved budget allocations
- Manage multi-disciplinary project teams for investigations,

design, project management, contract administration, construction

supervision, commissioning and hand-over of projects arising

from asset management
- Disseminate functional, planning, project implementation and

operational information on the immediate, short
- and long-term

wastewater initiatives, objectives, problems and constraints
- Ensure correct and efficient written communication with

internal and external parties and the safekeeping thereof
- Determine the impairment loses of the assets for inclusion in

the financial statements
- Ensure all 26 current and future wastewater facilities comply

with relevant legislation with regard to asset management and

equipment maintenance.
