Principal Professional Officer
**Requirements**:

- A relevant BEng, BSc (Eng) degree qualification in Engineering
- PMP (Project Management Professional) would be

advantageous
- 8 years relevant experience in project management A valid

drivers’ licence
- Exposure to a Waste Management environment will be

advantageous
Key Performance Areas
- Provides professional support to the Department/ Branch in

respect of research and development of innovative waste
disposal
technologies to ensure sustainable service delivery and
compliance
with waste management permits / licenses and norms and
standards.
- Explore innovative technologies for futuristic waste disposal as

well
- Focus on landfill gas to energy and waste to energy operations

and maintenance contract(s).
- Disposal Branch project and programme management
- Undertaking infrastructure development and project identification

at pre-feasibility assessment level.
- Undertaking Disposal Branch project initiation and planning.
- Undertaking Disposal Branch project implementation and

commissioning
- Engaging and liaising with stakeholders.
- In order to ensure provision of regional landfill site, extensions

to existing landfill sites, alternative disposal technologies, the
rehabilitation of landfill sites and related operating contracts
- Financial & Risk Management
- Keeping abreast of industry best practices
- Office Management
