**Requirements**:

- BEng or BSc (Eng) degree in Civil or Chemical Engineering
- Preferred BEng or BSc (Eng) degree in Civil or Chemical

Engineering with a Master’s Qualification in water treatment
- 8 years or more relevant post-graduate experience
- Preferred 8 years or more relevant experience post registration
- Professional Registration (PrEng) with the Engineering Council of

South Africa (or equivalent body recognised by the Washington
Accord)
- Computer literate
- A valid Code EB driver’s licence
- Must be Physically fit

Key Performance Areas
- Oversee complex infrastructure and asset management projects,

focusing on the preparation of engineering designs,
specifications, and drawings.
- Initiation and Implementation of Water Treatment Optimisation

Investigations

life cycle asset management for operations and maintenance.
- Manages treatment investigations with internal and external units.
- Manages the communication and relationships between various

stakeholders
- Explore and implement new ways of delivering services that

contribute to the improvement of municipal processes.
- Drawing up of correspondence of a more complex and involved

nature to facilitate the functioning of the Branch. Including
preparation of capital and operating estimates within a planned
project, and manages and controls expenditure against the
approved budget allocations.
