The primary accountabilities will include:

- Managing all people aspects concerning subordinates in line with SAPREF’s PEOPLEms. This includes formulating Personal Development Plans, periodic appraisals, coaching and mentoring to achieve a highly motivated team.
- Competence development of QMI Staff in accordance with the Job Family model
- Supporting Refinery ME and ESP programs
- Represents QMI Section in respective Maintenance interfaces
- Standby QMI Engineer for Refinery and Island View
- Setup and maintain QMI Equipment reliability systems
- Ensuring integrity of the Refinery Process Analyser equipment through effective preventative maintenance.
- Planning and executing PM programs in order to ensure optimum plant availability and reliability.
- Achieving a proper balance between Routine and Programmed QMI maintenance.
- Drawing up and evaluating contracts/tenders in order to ensure effective resource management.
- Provide technical support and advice on all QMI maintenance matters to business units
- Managing the section budget within agreed targets.
- QMI Section Lead during the Turnarounds
- Represents QMI Maintenance function in the Electrical Projects review forums
- Monitor and manage section performance against agreed maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance to all National, Shell and Sapref refinery regulations and standards on QMI matters.
- Responsible for HSE related issues.
- Lead QMI Section on all matters relating to Vision 25
- Preferably be in possession of a tertiary qualification Electrical Engineering (Light Current) or equivalent.
- Have at least 5 years experience in a supervisory or lead position
- 8-10 years of practical Process Analyzer System experience involving the design, installation and maintenance of process analyzers and process instrumentation.
- Have a strong background in and understanding of petrochemical industry maintenance practices and work processes and have a technical ability to help guide his/her team troubleshoot problems analytically and develop sound technical solutions.
- Have good interpersonal skills enabling him/her to communicate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization as well as with Service Providers.
