The primary accountabilities will include:
Managing all people aspects concerning subordinates in line with SAPREF’s PEOPLEms. This includes formulating Personal Development Plans, periodic appraisals, coaching and mentoring to achieve a highly motivated team.
- Competence development of Instruments Staff in accordance with the Job Family model
- Supporting Refinery ME and ESP programs
- Represents Instruments Section in respective Maintenance interfaces
- Standby Instruments Engineer for Refinery and Island View
- Setup and maintain Instrument Equipment reliability systems
- Ensuring integrity of the Process Instrumentation including Safeguarding equipment through effective preventative maintenance.
- Planning and executing PM programs in order to ensure optimum plant availability and reliability.
- Achieving a proper balance between Routine and Programmed Instruments maintenance.
- Drawing up and evaluating contracts/tenders in order to ensure effective resource management.
- Provide technical support and advice on all Instrumentation matters to business units
- Managing the section budget within agreed targets.
- Instruments Section Lead during the Turnarounds
- Represents Instruments Maintenance function in the Projects review forums
- Monitor and manage section performance against agreed maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance to all National, Shell and Sapref refinery regulations and standards on QMI matters.
- Responsible for HSE related issues.
Lead Instruments Section on all matters relating to Vision 25
.- Preferably be in possession of a tertiary qualification Electrical Engineering (Light Current) or equivalent.
- Have at least 5 years experience in a supervisory or lead position
- 8-10 years of practical Process Instrumentation System experience involving the design, installation and maintenance of process analyzers and process instrumentation.
- Have knowledge of specific requirements for the selection and erection of electrical equipment installations in explosive gas atmospheres and factors directly related to the inspection and maintenance of electrical installations within hazardous areas.
- Have knowledge of the Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) implementation details (IEC minimum requirements) and ability to do simple Probability of Failure on Demand (PFD) calculations.
- Have TDC 3000 DCS user experience and understanding of TDC system architecture.
