**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this individual will support the SA McCain business in delivering on key nearer and longer-term objectives. Landing integrated brand plans in-year with the cross functional team. Developing multi-year Integrated brand plans, aligned to the category strategy and growth priorities. Effectively managing the Brand’s budget, to achieve zero forecast bias, on a quarterly basis.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:

- **
Deliver Brand financial & Market Share;**
- Achieve annual GP (Gross Profit) through the implementation of brand plans with defined targets, plans to drive targets, innovation, and communication plans.
- Monitor brand sales, Shares & recommend coarse correction.
- Product and Portfolio Review as part of IBP (Integrated Business Planning).
- Attend and manage status meetings with agencies to ensure that promotions are within timeframe and within budget.
- Work co-operatively with category and sales team to ensure operational implementation.
- **
Develop a comprehensive Brand Plan to achieve the marketing and commercial objectives and drive Brand Planning & Management;**
- Compile marketing plans & ensure all marketing plans are executed timeously and accurately.
- Launch new products into the market.
- Conduct post campaign analysis and research to establish if objectives were achieved.
- Ensure label requirements are aligned to legislation and product concept as per 5i2P.
- **
Execution & Implementation of Consumer Campaigns;**
- Develop and lead brand lead digital activities aligned to the communication strategy pillars and brand objectives.
- Manage agency relations and spend related to budget and scope.
- Support Digital Brand Manager in driving digital activities.
- Track the ROI (Return on Investment) calculations are conducted to optimize executions and media spend.
- **
Budget Management;**
- Monthly budget phasing, tracking and management.
- Reconcile and manage media budget.
- Oversee accurate Processing all Purchase Orders and invoices.
- **
Project management/Assist the Marketing Manager in the development of annual and future innovation plans;**
- Engages with key departments, to ensure cross functional alignment with the brand agenda, objectives, and targets for the brand.
- Develop new packaging for new products as and when applicable.
- Research market to see if proposed new products are viable.
- Launch new products timeously and enter new segments that provide growth opportunities.
- Post launch reviews and analysis up to 18 months post launch.

**EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- BCom Marketing Management or related qualification (Honours or Master’s degree will be an added advantage).
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum 4- 6 years in a FMCG environment in brand management.
- Previous food experience will be advantageous.
- Strong numerical bias must be able to demonstrate P&L understanding.
- Previous experience within a similar FMCG and/or Consumer Goods industry is non-negotiable.
- Nielsen Data, ex-Factory Data and Consumer Data analysis and interpretation with insight driven recommendations (essential) i.e.
- Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel, and Word).
- Valid SA driver’s license.

**PERSON SPECIFICATIONS**
- Understanding of Nielsen Answers system and the use of any other retail syndicated data (e.g. Dunhumby, Insights etc.).
- Financial acumen: clear understanding of the workings of a P&L and the key drivers that need to be tracked and improved on to achieve healthy profitable growth in the category.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- An understanding of trends and an ability to respond to customers' wishes.
- Creativity and an ability to produce innovative and original ideas.
- Team working skills.
- The ability to manage and allocate budgets.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
