**Main purpose of the job**:

- To facilitate and aid in the recruitment and follow-up of patients which will require the nurse to work flexibly to ensure the successful working of the EFFECT Phase 3 clinical trial
- They will also act as a patient advocate providing support and assistance as required

**Location**:

- **Helen Joseph Hospital, Johannesburg**

**Key performance areas**:

- Recruitment, Screening, and Follow-up with study participants
- Clinical Assessment (Venepuncture, cannulation, and blood or urine sample processing)
- Administration (Assist with preparation of study materials, day-to-day management of the trial, ensuring compliance with standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ensuring records are kept in regards to study recruitment, screening, losses to the study, and enrolment)

**Required minimum education and training**:

- **Diploma or Degree in Nursing**:

- **Professional Body Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)**

**Required minimum work experience**:

- **1 year of Nursing experience in Clinical Trials**

**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:

- Certification in good clinical practice and HIV Management
- Experience working in a research environment
- Ordered and systematic with strict compliance to protocols
- Tactful, respectful, and maintain confidentiality
- Good administrative skills together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Pro-active and adaptable
- Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Driver’s license and own car
