¨      Responsible for education, training, and clinical facilitation of students.

¨      Responsible for identifying skills-development needs and coordination and/or presentation of in-service training to nursing staff members.

¨      Involved in community engagement and research activities.

Minimum Requirements:

Professional Qualifications:

¨      Diplomas or degrees in General Nursing Science, Midwifery, Community Nursing Science, Psychiatric Nursing Science and Nursing Education

¨      Registered as a Professional Nurse with the SANC

¨      Proof of Professional Indemnity

¨      Registered as an Assessor and Moderator with SANC

¨      South African Valid Driving Licensed

Experience:

¨      A minimum of two years post-basic clinical experience in a ward

¨      Teaching and Clinical Facilitation experience

¨      Experience in development of programs, accreditation, and quality assurance

¨      Computer literacy

Characteristics:

¨      Candidate must have a passion for the development of people, possess leadership skills and be able to function effectively under pressure

¨      Must be well organized, adaptable, and creative.

¨      Must pay fanatical attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

¨      Will report to the Principal: Arwyp Training Institute

¨      Will function in cooperation with the Unit Managers and other facilitators/educators

¨      Will facilitate students in the classroom and clinical components of the programs and assess their competence

¨      Will keep record of theoretical progress and clinical hours and attendance according to clinical placement and ward duty roster

¨      Will identify the skills-development needs of nursing staff members in the organization

¨      Will coordinate and present staff training in accordance with the identified needs

¨      Will initiate and provide support for continuous community engagement.

¨      Will initiate and provide support for research activities.
