**Purpose of the role**:
To ensure new and innovative product development for milling, confectionary and beverages that will deliver high marginal contribution profits, in line with Business Innovation and Growth strategies.

**Job Objectives**
- To support and deliver agreed innovative projects in line with the organisation’s profit & growth strategies and regulatory requirements.
- To ensure business continuity in the Product R&D team through:

- the performance management,
- coaching, training, and development of team members
- To mitigate investment risk, ensure product food safety and regulatory compliance in line with the requirements of the food safety quality manual through providing advice and guidance to the business relating to new and existing products and processes.
- To protect intellectual property relating to product development through the implementation of a repository of company recipes and product processes.
- To ensure business continuity and project execution by maintaining and leveraging internal and external stakeholder relationships through ongoing engagement in cross functional meetings and Invocoms.
- Ensure innovative and improved practises and processes through continuous professional development, staying abreast with local and global trends, advising on the improvement opportunities.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Food Science, BTech Diploma or equivalent or a related field Essential
- Degree in Biochemistry, Bio Sciences, B.Sc Food science or a related field Beneficial
- Diploma in Manufacturing Operations Desirable
- Lean six sigma methodology Desirable
