**About the Role**
**Responsibilities**
- To manage the Workshop operations in terms of new machines, machine rebuilds, new machine assemblies, services and major component repairs and coordinate all technical training and the operations of Company Mining Machine’s equipment.
- Provide and assist the Field Service Technicians and the Branches with technical and training input.
- **Quality**_
- Adhere to Company standards, policies and procedures as well as customer standards at all times.
- **Development and training standards**_
- Continuously develop and maintain yourself to keep abreast with new technology and developments in your line of duty within the Personal Development Plan, discussed with your direct manager.
- **Workshop Quality**_
- To integrate quality into the business by ensuring that all machines are technically safe and to notify the customer of any technical changes or updates required on their machines.
- To ensure that the company complies with Section 21 of the Mines Health and Safety Act of 1996, the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as any relevant Acts.
- Every component repair and rebuild machine is supplied according to customer specifications and by regular feedback from the customers after the sale. The Production Manager ensures that the customer is satisfied with the produced quality standards.
- Manage and implement company standards, and procedures as well as ensure that the workshop works according to the technical drawings at all times.
- Plan, organise, lead and control the day-to-day activities of the workshop, including staff management.
- Ensure that the workshop is managed by all factory and work statutory regulations and by management’s objectives and instructions.
- **Product Development**_
- Interact with major customers, salespersons, service
- and senior managers, to identify opportunities for new products and/or service enhancements.
- Make use of knowledge from the rebuild program to enhance the product and keep abreast with the latest technology.
- Take responsibility for the development and introduction of these modifications to the targeted customers on an ongoing basis.
- **Production Plan Execution**_
- Execute the production plans for each rebuild and a new machine for manufacture.
- Plan the daily production in the workshop according to the available resources.
- Ensure the delivery of equipment within the periods prescribed cost-effectively.
- **Resource Planning**_
- Develop models from which you can base recommendations to senior management on resources required to achieve budgeted revenue, productivity, and targets.
- **Research**_
- Utilise the rebuild program to ensure all learning from the rebuild program is implemented into newer models and to network with customers, ascertain their requirements and carry good suggestions forward into the rebuild program and the new machine designs.
- **Reports**_
- Compile all daily, weekly, and annual management information reports as required by management. This is to be done within the time frames as agreed with management.
- **Analysis**_
- To analyse weekly and monthly figures and demonstrate a clear and solid understanding of the figures at all times.
- These figures are to be logged, kept on record, and communicated with the COO at all times.
- **Technical Training**_
- Continuously assess the ability of staff to complete work required and train where deficiencies occur at all times.
- **Pricing**_
- In conjunction with the branch and senior managers, establish and agree on the pricing policy per product.
- To recommend annual tariff changes, take into account the competitive position, market share and profitability targets.
- To take responsibility for liaising with other countries on requests for quotations ex ZA, ensuring that ZA prices comply with internationally negotiated agreements.
- **Marketing**_
- To establish and formulate the annual marketing plan for South Africa with input from the branches and senior managers.
- To solicit repair and overhaul work to assist in developing and increasing the customer base and work for the workshop.
