Head: Business Development

**Core Description**:
The role is responsible for identifying new and innovative business opportunities to drive revenue growth for Telkom and is identifying and developing business cases for innovation products and services and working closely with Business Units to ensure that sustainable value is derived from new products and services. Further responsible for the development and execution of the integrated Supplier Development (SD), Enterprise Development (ED) and Preferential Procurement (PP) strategy and plans in support of the company’s transformation plan.

**Responsibilities**:
**Primary Function**:
- The business development manager will play a crucial role in the success of business expansion, delegated formation of strategic partnerships, and increased profitability in new digital product and services.
- The business development manager will play a key role in strengthening the business case for new digital products and innovations. Also be actively seeking and managing high-value corporate partnerships and developing long-term strategic collaborations in key verticals working on various initiatives within the innovation and transformation office.
- Work with business units in developing and negotiating new product pricing and revenue share models particularly on new digital products in key verticals related to business unit focus areas. This will also include developing clear business cases from work done in the Telkom research and development lab.
- Transfer day-to-day responsibility of the value proposition beyond the incubation stage back to business units once the desired KPIs have been achieved.
- Responsible for the strategic oversight of the integrated supplier development (SD), enterprise development (ED) and preferential procurement (PP) programmes implemented by the ESD team.
**Required Certification**:
**Qualifications**:
- 3-year Degree (NQF level 7) preferably in financial management, business management, product management or equivalent.
- A postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) will be preferable, e.g., Postgraduate diploma/ Masters.
**Experience**:
8 Years relevant experience, of which at least 3 years on senior management level
