**The role in a nutshell**:
You will form part of the Anti-Fraud Fraud Monitoring team based in Cape Town, South Africa, and you will report to the Fraud Monitoring Team Lead in South Africa. Our Anti-Fraud team looks after our global business and consists of a growing number of enthusiastic, energetic Lunauts. You will work in a fast paced environment, collaborating with other business units, including Engineering, Product and Legal teams, servicing the business on an international level together with the other teams within Anti-Financial Crime.

**About the team**:
The Anti-Fraud team takes care of the operational aspects of fraud risk for Luno's global business. Our mission is to create a world class Anti-Fraud Team that keeps both Luno and our customers safe. We do this by responding to any fraud related risks and communication in a swift coordinated way. We make sure we have the processes and information available that enable us to understand our risk, we monitor for any red flags and we ensure that potential fraud cases are dealt with quickly and appropriately. Ultimately, we keep the good guys in and bad guys out.

**Your mission will involve**:

- Responding to incoming fraud related queries from our banks, payment partners and stakeholders including in respect of bank fraud, card fraud and chargebacks
- Learning the fundamentals of payment systems, card processing, and transaction flows in the context of fraud and chargebacks
- Liaising between various internal and external stakeholders including legal, law enforcement, investigators, banks and victims
- Reviewing alerts, accounts and transactions for potentially fraudulent activity and take quick, decisive action under the guidance of senior team members
- Working with senior investigators to proactively identify, monitor and mitigate fraud trends and patterns
- Managing time sensitive workflows across competing priorities
- Interacting with customers to understand unusual account activity
- Providing investigative support for various teams
- Identifying areas of improvement in Luno's products and team processes to ensure our continued customer security and safety
- Working with a high degree of independence
- Keeping detailed logs of incidents and preparing high quality reports.

**A little about you**:

- A relevant qualification from an accredited institution
- Relevant work experience within a relevant sector (e.g. Fintech, cryptocurrency exchange, payment processor or forensics firm)
- Strong analytical mindset
- Acute attention to detail
- Strong sense of responsibility and unwavering integrity
- Outstanding problem solving skills and the ability to conceptualise new ideas
- Excellent English communication and writing skills
- Friendly, transparent, articulate and driven to succeed
- Familiarity with crypto-currencies will be highly advantageous
- An existing, valid work permit for South Africa, if you're not a South African citizen.

- Have hands-on experience related to digital forensics, cybersecurity, dark web, OSINT, counter-terrorism, financial crime, insider threat, and/or legal proceedings;
