We are seeking a Head Livestock Agent to join our team and play a key role in sourcing the finest meat products for our customers while maintaining our commitment to quality and sustainability.

**Job Summary**
As the Head Livestock Agent at BraaiBox, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement and sourcing of premium meat products from high-quality farmers and producers in the Western Cape. Your role will encompass negotiating prices, managing relationships with farmers and abattoirs, and optimizing our supply chain to meet customer demand efficiently.

**Responsibilities**

**1. Sourcing**:Identify and establish relationships with local farmers and producers known for supplying top-quality beef, lamb, chicken, and pork. Build a network of reliable suppliers.

**2. Negotiation**: Negotiate pricing and contractual agreements with farmers and producers to ensure competitive rates and consistent supply.

**3. Abattoir and Supply Chain**: Coordinate the transportation of animals to abattoirs and manage relationships with abattoirs and feedlots to ensure the highest standards of quality and animal welfare.

**4. Forecasting**: Collaborate with the operations team to plan and forecast supply chain needs, ensuring that customer demand is met effectively.

5. **Quality Assurance**: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that all meat products meet our stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements.

**Requirements**:

- At least 10 years’ experience as an abattoir buyer or livestock agent or a similar role in the meat industry.
- Extensive network and relationships with farmers and producers in the Western Cape.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure favourable terms and pricing.
- Knowledge of abattoir operations and experience in procuring animals for processing.
- Excellent planning and forecasting abilities.
- Understanding of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices in the meat industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to quality and a passion for the meat industry.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Commission

**Salary**: R30,000.00 - R100,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
