My client an investment holding company based in Stellenbosch has a great opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join their team. In this role the successful incumbent will be responsible for the accurate recording of all transactions and preparation of annual financial statements of these companies and their respective wholly owned subsidiaries.

**Responsibilities**:

- Cash flow monitoring, creditors payments and bank reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset register, outstanding debtor records and follow-up on payments
- Liaise daily with colleagues, line manager and the secretarial department
- Completing and submitting regulatory returns for Income tax, VAT payable, etc
- Assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and variance reports for the
- company and its cost centres
- Assist with the preparation of annual and interim financial statements in terms of International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”)
- Assist with the annual budget preparation
- Establish work process flows and internal controls
- Assist the Group Finance management team with various ad hoc projects

**Requirements**:

- BComm Financial Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience with completed SAIPA articles
- Knowledge of VAT, general tax compliance and e-Filing
