Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Location: Southern Suburbs, Cape Town 

Job Type: Full-Time

Hire Resolve's client in the Investment Management industry is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Assist with tax preparation and compliance
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
  • Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
