Position title : Junior Technical Manager

Position reports to : Senior Operations Manager

Business Unit : Facilities Management

**Main purpose / objective of the position**:
To plan, implement, maintain and optimise infrastructure and equipment in buildings and other facilities, as well as plan, direct, and coordinate for all activities concerned with the infrastructure and operational management of the portfolio, including building construction and repairs, air-conditioning, cleaning, fire equipment, hygiene equipment, landscaping, parking, pest control, safety and security, smoke ventilation and waste management, under the Chief Engineer’s guidance.

**Duties will Include**:

- Checking work completed by contractors for compliance and safety.
- Designing and implementing safety standards for operations.
- Evaluating the efficiency of systems and equipment within a facility.
- Preparing reports and documentation.
- Creating maintenance plans and schedules.
- Ensuring all relevant building regulations are observed

**Education & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Operations / Facilities Management (preferably in the Real Estate environment)

**Skills required**:

- Implementation and management of Service Level Agreements
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work well with non-engineering colleagues
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot on the spot
- Administration principles and reporting
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong planning, organising and time management skills
- Ability to organise resources

**Knowledge required**:

- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, CAP and MS Office, or similar
- Sound knowledge of housekeeping principles
- Sound knowledge of OHS Act
- Sound knowledge of building standards and regulations
- Sound technical knowledge
- Sound knowledge of relevant statutory requirements
- Contract management

- Level of Mechanical / Electrical Complexity
- Rental Levels
- Management complexity & intensity

**Interface / relationships with**:
Internal: Chief Engineer, Technical Managers, Facilities Managers, Risk Managers, Handymen, Finance External: Contractors, Landlord, Tenants
