BI Technical Delivery Manager

Who are we?
Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam. What will you do?

Plan, execute and deliver technical initiatives of varying size on time, within budget and scope with the required artefacts.
Vendor engagement and escalations.
Management of technical services, ensuring focus is given based on the data platform priority.
Participate and ensure technical team coverage for BI and Analytics requirements.
Establish and drive continuous improvement of technical services used by the Data Platform, e.g. monitoring and alerting capability.
Engagement with SGT to align and ensure fit for purpose processes and tools for the Data Platform across the technical services.
Disaster recovery preparation and coordination for the Data Platform, including reporting and remediation of any findings.
Business Continuity Management for the Data Platform consumers.
Create a roadmap and secure funding for technical services initiatives for the following year and provide input into the annual budget creation for technical services.
Assist with budget management by timeously updating the BI timesheet template for all technical resources.
Ensure the infrastructure documentation and processes are up to date.
Act as a product owner for technical/infrastructure projects.
Log, manage, report, and mitigate infrastructure risks and issues.
Service Level Management of technical services and the creation and maintenance of the technical services catalogue and related processes and artefacts.
Management & Operational Reporting

As a member of the Sanlam management team you will participate in business-wide decision-making, strategy formulation and delivery leadership while serving as an important interface between various technical, data and business stakeholder groups.
As the BI Technical Delivery Lead you will be responsible for the definition and execution of the BI platform wide portfolio of transformation, enablement and/or foundation initiatives, prioritising the flow of value to various business areas whilst balancing the technical and architectural transformation demands as well as the technical change and maintenance portfolio.
You will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating cross functional agile project teams, supported by a Scrum Master that will be responsible to manage the initiative specific delivery, in partnership with the Sanlam BI Principal Architect who is responsible for the evolving BI architecture. Your objectives are to achieve a high level of performance and quality and to deliver agile projects that provide exceptional business value to users.
You will also be responsible for the continuous improvement of the team engagement model and delivery method. You will be accountable and responsible for the identifying, developing and implementing techniques to improve and optimise engagement, productivity, efficiency, risk mitigation, issue resolution and service delivery.
You will need to establish and maintain effective relationships with a variety of business, technical and governance stakeholders while leading the team to effectively deliver the services you are responsible for. What will make you successful in this role?
Platform portfolio management
- BI wide platform demand management and prioritisation of the BI platform portfolio which will include both the establishment of the medium term

and long Term strategic view,whilst being able to respond effectively to ongoing demands from business on a sprint by sprint basis
- The definition and delivery execution of the SBI platform and architecture roadmap in consultation with the SBI principal architect, actively

managing an integrated view of the SBI wide transformation and/or enablement portfolio
- Managing platform wide portfolio interdependencies and constraints, tracking benefits realisation, resource management and tracking and

the facilitation of trade-off decisions
- Maintaining and improving the cross portfolio work management and tracking processes, governance and toolsets, leveraging programme wide

processes and tooling (E.g. Jira, Confluence, Office suite)

Agile project management
- Responsible to facilitate the shaping, scoping, planning and delivery of small, medium and large cross functional initiatives
- Preparing integrated flight plans and delivery backlogs, updating as required during the lifetime of the initiative
- Support the adoption of agile processes and practices to develop effective data solutions, including transitioning to Cloud based solutions
