**Duties and Responsibilities**

**The purpose of this position is to**:

- Implement and maintain a system for the compilation and collation of a comprehensive record of construction quality documentation and certification of all construction work, to assist in the satisfactory handover of the completed project to the Client
- Ensure that the Contractors Quality Control (QC) records reflect the items in the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) with strict adherence to identified interventions
- Ensure progressive and systematic acceptance and retention of Inspection records to enable turnover of original records to the Client on handover of major parts and or assemblies of the project
- Ensure adequate inspection procedures to undertake and check all elements of the operational process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Execute and maintain an effective QC system, Inspecting, Documenting and Reporting during manufacturing and installation phases
- Establish and maintain project quality requirements, including liaising via the correct system channels, with sub-contractors and the Client
- Review of sub-contractor procedures and documentation
- Drafting of ITP’s, procedural and other documents to ensure conformity to specific intervention points
- Auditing of quality performance in accordance of ISO 9001 and project deliverables
- Reporting non-conformant quality performance to the required structures.**Inherent Requirements**

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Matric Certificate
- Welding Inspection Qualification
- SAIW Level 1/2, CSWIP or IWI Equivalent
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
- Knowledge of Corrosion Protection (Paint Systems)
- Knowledge of ISO 3834
- Ability to interpret drawings and technical orders/ specifications
- Communication in English (Both Verbal and Written)
- 5-8 years’ experience in structural fabrication/ construction environment
