- REPORTING TO THE QUALITY & ENGINEERING MANAGER- JOB PURPOSE:
- To ensure that shipping and packaging international standards are adhered to through visual, dimensional and non-destructive testing. Manage and control legislative and statutory compliance for international subsidiaries and export orders. Manages subordinates; compiles and approves QC documentation.- JOB FUNCTION:
- Quality Control Support:
- Ensure that all systems and procedures are adhered to- Perform inspection and verification in accordance with procedures and drawings- Ensure inspection records are maintained- Quality improvement processes are managed according to company requirements- Red line drawings are recorded and revised as per ISO standard- Represents Inspectorate by appearance and is ethical at all times- Issue inspection report and release certificates- Compliance:
- Compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements is ensured as well as sound corporate governance- Innovations, incidents and near misses are raised on Sheqsys- Full compliance with customer VDRL quality requirements- Ensure condition and calibration status of measuring equipment used is maintained in accordance to procedures- Ensure the detection of non-conforming product being manufactured and involvement in PDCA Activities- Be familiar with international regulations and statutory compliance for packaging requirements- Reports to job-site punctually and observes all Inspectorate applicable federal and state regulations and standards, and/or vessel requirements, including safety and measurement standards.- Documentation:
- Quality inspection reports are distributed in time to relevant stakeholders- Quarterly supplier reviews are conducted- Records are filed electronically and manually as per departmental procedure- Review data books for compliance- Receives orders, obtains information, and gathers paperwork from Operations Supervisor(s) on movements- Custodian of company technical specifications and recommend changes to be made to the company technical specifications.- Managed Budget:
- Requirements for budget are submitted annually and expenditure of area is monitored, controlled and updated monthly- Supervised Team:
- Company HR and Disciplinary policy is adhered to, work is prioritised and objectives set and assigned to suitable personnel-
**Inherent Requirements**
- QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years relevant experience in a quality manufacturing environment- Matric, Certified Coatings Inspector / CIP Level 2 Certification or Welding & Fabrication Inspector level 2 (SAIW)- Good understanding and interpretation of drawings and working knowledge of measuring instruments is compulsory- Drivers Licence is required- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)- Good attention to detail, can build a successful team, initiates action, quality orientated, displays safety awareness and customer focused- Displays understanding of QC processes and standards, such as ISO9001:2008; as well as an understanding of the products that are inspected and company technical specification, fabrication and welding- Familiar with international regulations for packaging requirements**What Qualification**
