**Job purpose**

Oversee the management and growth of a portfolio of high growth, early stage venture investments. Responsible for the Funds’ performance in collaboration with the Partner, and a team of investment professionals.

Stakeholder and Investor relationship management.

**Core activities**

**Portfolio Management**:

- Drive performance management in investee companies of the fund.
- Responsible for stakeholder reporting (including portfolio valuations) of the Fund.
- Participate in credit committees as and when required.
- Deliver business development mentoring and other value-added services to portfolio companies, e.g.:

- Operational diagnostics to identify shortcomings and propose solutions.
- Assistance in strategy development & execution.
- Business-building and value-adding support
- Access to new markets.
- Raising capital.
- Special projects to unlock value
- Deliver selected products to portfolio companies
- Assist Partner/s in extracting maximum value and impact from the portfolio.
- Participation in Edge Fund-related workshops, strategic sessions and other portfolio-related forums.
- Assistance in portfolio strategy development & execution.

**Governance**
- Ensure effective governance and best practice within investees.
- Help ensure effective governance at a Fund Level.

**Leadership**
- Provide high-level technical expertise and support to the PIM team.
- Responsible for strategic level engagement and management

**Monitoring and compliance**
- Oversee the implementation of effective monitoring and compliance at investee, fund & portfolio levels.

**Legal**
- Oversee portfolio and internal legal compliance and risks.

**Relationship and Stakeholder Management**
- Responsible for stakeholder management
- Investor relations and reporting
- Reporting on Fund level performance

**Qualifications**
- Ideally CA (SA) and/or CFA
- Alternatively, Tertiary degree -with an outstanding academic performance record with a strong problem solving (e.g. Engineering, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, Business Science)
- MBA from a highly-regarded institution will be an advantage
- Track record of performance / excellent results

**Experience**
- Finance and / or venture capital investing experience, preferably in the post-investment environment.
- Preferable: 5-10 years in an investment or finance environment, preferably within a reputable investment firm.
- Secondary:

- 5+ years in a business consulting firm with a bias towards business strategy and execution / project delivery roles, or advisory services to small businesses, or
- 5+ years in a top tier accounting firm
