The Trade Reservations Agent, at The Royal Portfolio's Cape Town Head Office, is generally the first point of contact for potential guests and tour operators. As such, it is important that they reflect the warmth and welcoming atmosphere guests have come to expect from our properties. They need to ensure that the hotel teams have as much detail about each guest as possible, before their arrival, and they are also constantly looking to maximise room revenue and occupancy levels. All of this whilst living up to the purpose of The Royal Portfolio, which is _"to give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay"_. **Role and Responsibilities**: - To provide accurate and timeous information to Retail, Wholesale and OTA trade as well as SA Resident and RMC guests, with regards to all queries they might have about The Royal Portfolio properties. - Offer advice based on your expertise about the properties as well as additional activities our properties offer or guided experiences with 3rd party suppliers - it’s not just about the room it’s the full experience. - To manage The Royal Portfolio inventory effectively as well as maintain the relationships with both Trade and Guests in order to maximise sales and revenue from all channels. - Finance - Deposits, Cancellations & Commissions - Online booking channels - Liaise and communicate with internal stakeholders effectively - Maintain a workable office environment, by ensuring that all information is retrievable by all office staff **Qualifications & Requirements**: - A minimum qualification of a Standard 10 / Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. - A relevant tertiary qualification is an advantage - Minimum 4 years’ experience in Reservations or Front Office Experience or other 5* Hotel / Lodge Operations involving Admin or Tour Operator, depending on ability. - High competency in the following areas: - Communication skills - written and verbal - English (any other language an advantage) - Outstanding telephone manner - Good knowledge of the Hospitality & Service Industry - Excellent knowledge of Trade Relations - Ability to sell The Royal Portfolio properties via written and verbal techniques - Excellent computer skills - MS Word, MS Outlook and Opera (Or similar PMS / Reservations System) - Good organisational skills - High attention to detail - Complete tasks timeously and accurately - Ability to work under pressure - Service orientated - Highly self-motivated and ability to take initiative - Warm & friendly & respectful personality South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document. **All new appointments at The Royal Portfolio’s properties will need to show proof of vaccination against Covid 19.
