**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and manage an up-to-date understanding of the macroeconomic, and locality environment over planned areas and existing areas, using the information to consider the implications for existing and new stores/business.
- Execute a yearly business development strategy nationally Jan-Dec.
- Conduct research to determine which markets should be entered and which should be avoided.
- Establish relationships with existing and new franchise partners to convert and drive development opportunities.
- Oversee New Business pipeline and New Store Openings.
- Negotiate with landlords for sites and build relationships.
- Get the best commercial lease terms through negotiations (rent, TI etc.)
- Approve the budgets and feasibilities.
- Approve sites based on the business case presented.
- Oversee timely completion of all procedures, policies and processes of your department.
- Conduct research to determine which markets should be entered and which should be avoided.
- Strategize, Manage and Execute on the Revamp/Remodel program nationally to ensure stores remain fresh.
- Complete and sign off on all Plans / Layouts ensuring best possible use of space to maximize the opportunity on aesthetics and operational efficiency.
- Maintain approved list of equipment's / suppliers and drive innovation in this regard to promote product quality.
- Allocate and approve contractors to be used.
- Ensure the quality of workmanship and equipment is of a high standard.
- Sign off on all plans, designs, investment decks, Dev quotes/ invoices.
- Ensure all stores are opened timeously, within budget and spec.
- Oversee maintenance of all corporate stores through maintenance teams.
- Ensure all agreements and documents are in place at different stages of a new franchisees store opening journey.
- Lease with finance to ensure timely receipts and payments of monies relating to projects and development.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must have 7 years new business experience for lease negotiation and landlord interactions.
- Must have development management experience.
- Solid project management experience.
- An understanding of area trends.
- Must have QSR industry experience.
- Ability to travel.
