Applications are invited for the HR Business Partner (Stellenbosch) position for Herotel (Pty) Ltd, National Support Office (NSO). This is a hybrid position, with travel to Stellenbosch required.

This person will report to the Head of Human Capital.

**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**: The HRBP supports NSO leadership and employees by planning, coordinating, activating, and advising on HR activities, policies, procedures and practices at NSO. The scope of the position is of a generalist nature, including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, payroll administration and reporting.

**Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to**:
**Advisory and support**
- Advise leadership and employees regarding HR policies and procedures, standards and legislative compliance.
- Support the implementation of departmental objective, initiatives and plans, in support of the business strategy.
- Developing a thorough understanding of all human resources (HR) policies, practices, and processes and assisting in developing and improving thereon.
- Actively participating in MOS (management operating system) meetings.

**Recruitment / Selection / Onboarding**
- Implement a recruitment plan, in line with business needs and Employment Equity targets.
- Draft job description and advertisements and grade positions in line with Herotel's grading system and methology.
- Proactively recruit for vacancies, including sourcing, headhunting, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, arranging and facilitating assessments, drafting offers of employment and employment contracts.
- Develop and implement an onboarding programme for each new employee, including systems, training, uniform, introductions and an overview of Herotel's culture, values, policies and MOS.
- Support employee and line management during probation to ensure that a proper process is followed and recorded, including training, coaching, guidance and feedback to the employee.
- Building relationships with recruitment agencies to provide support with recruitment, particularly in specialist and technical roles.
- Adhere to employment equity plan when recruiting.
- Make use of recruitment software (Breezy), systems, digitisation, tools and methodologies in order to continuously improve the recruitment capability of Herotel.

**Employee Relations**
- Guide, coach and support management with disciplinary procedures, including misconduct, incapacity and ill-health.
- Assist with investigations, drafting disciplinary warnings, notifications of disciplinary enquiry, disciplinary enquiries, poor performance and incapacity procedures.
- Represent company at CCMA, including preparation.
- Work with labour relations service providers where expert input is required.
- Remain up to date with labour law and case law developments.
- Facilitate as a mediator when required to try and resolve employee grievances.

**Learning and Development**
- Implementing and overseeing the implementation of an annual training plan, in conjunction with the Head of Learning and Development.
- Facilitate career development discussions in partnership management.
- Participate in the identification and consolidation of NSO specific learning and development needs.
- Plan, monitor and report on all learning interventions as per WSP/ATR and compliance frameworks while working in conjunction with the NSO HR and L&D team.
- Proactively plan, coordinate and report on all skills initiatives as per programme requirements.

**HR Administration and Reporting**
- Responsible for maintaining employee records, including safety measures to ensure that access is limited to authorised persons, in line with POPI and employment law.
- Implement contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
- Assist hands-on with day-to-day HR tasks as required.
- Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
- Ensure active management of leave records (sick leave trends, etc)
- Report on trends and metrics to NSO HR monthly and on an ad hoc basis.

**Payroll, Remuneration and Benefits**
- Ensure all payroll input is done according to the set due dates from the Payroll department.
- Ensure all payroll input is completed and accurate as per the Payroll checklist and according to the Payroll process.
- Responsible to assist with employee payroll enquiries at NSO.
- Understand and implement Herotel's benefit structures.
- Facilitate remuneration processes, including annual increases, bonus awards, increases, etc.

**Organisational Design**
- Support management and teams with coaching and other appropriate interventions relating to team dynamics, performance, culture, values, engagement, etc.
- Identify trends relating to culture, engagement through communicating with employees', teams and leadership, exit interviews, etc.
- Implement measures in NSO to support Herotel's culture and values and ensure talent retention.
