Production Manager

**THE COMPANY**

**THE ROLE**
Directing day-to-day processing activities, your role focuses on achieving daily production targets while adhering to safety, HACCP/quality, environmental and budgetary requirements.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager is a key leadership role, working to develop staff; promote a safety culture; to encourage continuous improvement initiatives; to assist with capital projects and other production-related activities as required.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure daily completion of Production Orders in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Monitor cost metrics for the processing plant to measure performance.
- Meet all weekly, monthly, and annual reporting requirements.
- Monitor plant performance for compliance with OHS, food safety, and product quality standards.
- Manage the performance of direct reports through leadership and coaching to accomplish the Primary Plant goals and objectives.
- Actively supports the use of HACCP, QA and continuous improvement methodologies to enable sustainable processes that improve performance through data-driven decision making.
- Foster a culture of accountability
- Actively manage HR issues as they arise
- Lead by example in the development of a proactive safety culture d and coach staff to adhere to all company policies and work according to standard operating procedures
- Lead and build the commitment to teamwork, providing training, mentoring and supervision to the team
- Ensure that the work facility fulfills all required safety and environmental needs
- Always ensure full compliance with OH&S regulatory standards
- Lead formal root cause analysis, and process improvement initiatives to identify deficiencies and eliminate waste.
- Develop standard work to ensure operations are performed effectively and efficiently through standardised processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve plant / process layout and workflow.

**KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

**Qualifications**:

- Related Diploma/Degree in Production/Operations Management/Food Technology or similar

**Experience & Skills**:

- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant demonstrated experience in a FMCG meat-related manufacturing environment; preferably poultry
- Implementation of continuous improvement methodologies in a manufacturing setting.
- Preferably with knowledge of HACCP/GMP/QA/OH&S
- Transparent, collaborative, hands-on leader, with the ability to inspire and mentor
- Successful track record of Production Leadership with an ethnically-diverse workforce.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building capability across all functional areas and levels within the organisation.
- Strong written skills.
- Well-developed organisational, problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to interpret and transpose data into usable information for others.

**LOCATION AND REMUNERATION**
The role is located 45 mins drive from Horsham, Victoria, Australia. The role is a full-time, permanent appointment and includes a salary base plus 10.5% superannuation.
