- 5+ years’ experience in procurement in a technical environment.

Job purpose, duties and responsibilities of the post
**Main Purpose**
Managing of company's sourcing capabilities and supply chain as well as ensuring the effective use and management of procurement department.
- Ensure the department negotiate best price, MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) and Lead time for all projects.
- Check all work done by buyers for accuracy.
- Check all orders before signing against quote, buying list.
- Negotiate credit terms with suppliers.
- Maintain pressure on suppliers to deliver timeously.
- Ensure that all orders placed are continuously followed up by expeditors to ensure that accurate dates can be given to Project Managers.
- Ensure all orders that did not arrive on time are communicated to Project Managers and that these orders are followed up to ensure delivery.
- Acquire quotations from local and overseas suppliers
- Liaise with relevant Managers and Suppliers
- Ensure that accurate orders are placed timeously by buyers.
- Review performance of suppliers against contracts
- Handling queries from Finance regarding price discrepancies and the reasons as to what caused those price discrepancies.
- Ensure the complete filing of all documentation for completed projects.
- Responsible decision making.
- Prioritizing of workload
- Manage contracts
- Ensure optimum productivity of department
- Delegate projects to different buyers to ensure even workload.
- Ensure deadlines are met for procurement department per project.
- Ensure the quality of each member of the team’s work.
- HR related issues regarding discipline and administration e.g. leave etc.
- Ensure all reports go out to the relevant key players.
