This position is a 6 month contract role

Matric essential

Qualification in Purchase control management / supply chain management

Minimum 10 years related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in shipping
- Imports via road, sea and airfreight
- Exports via road, sea and airfreight
- Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Observe safety and security procedures

Follow policies and procedures

Management of diversity and cultural differences

Supervising and ensuring best practices in the shipping department which is responsible for import, export related aspects

Managing and supervising the shipping department by ensuring that best practices are applied when shipping related files are opened and services, provided to external and internal customers are done in the most professional manner

Negotiate and ensure all framed agreements with transport operators are in place, including GIT insurance

Ensure all draft agreements with transport and freight operators are in place and reviewed on an ongoing basis

Ensure deferment account SARS entry and compliance, agents input accuracy and compliance

**Shipping**

Supervising and ensuring best practices in the shipping department which is responsible for import, export related aspects

**Inbound**
**Shipments**

Ensure all pre-alerts are framed, file opened, record and reflect on detail

Ensure agents pre-alert gets captured, verify rates, urgency, inco-terms, record and react to all anomalies

Provide agents with clearing instructions, and supporting documents, prior to arrival of ship of aircraft

Ensure accuracy of invoice rates as agreed

Ensure all agent invoices are received prior to month end closure

Ensure prompt monthly closure and submission of all field entries

**Outbound Shipments**

Ensure export instructions are framed, file opened, record and reflect on detail

Ensure accuracy of invoice rates as agreed

Ensure all agent invoices are received prior to month end closure

Provide agents with clearing instructions, and supporting documents, prior to arrival of ship of aircraft

Ensure prompt monthly closure and submission of all field entries

**Transport**

Negotiate, draft and monitor frame, agreements with preferred transport

Identify potential transport/ freight service operations

Ensure legal and customs compliance

Ensure that best practices and industry norms are applied

Supervise and assist the department in order to ensure excellence in the supply chain

**SARS and Customs**

Ensure all customs rules are applied and complied to all times

Ensure all filed entries are captured in accordance to the ACT

Ensure all discrepancies are recorded, reflected on, investigated and confirm VOC corrective action

**In General**

Assist Logistics Manager in all Logistics operations and support across all distribution channels

Track, analyze communicate key performance matrices

Manage on-going partner relationships

Ensure that partners understand and accept customer guidelines and requirements for all logistics operations

Responsible for the strategic and operational planning of external customer shipping operations
