Ingenious Personnel recruitment are looking for a Shipping Supervisor. The company is a well-established material handling sector company based in the East of Johannesburg.

**About the role**:

- Guide and oversee the Shipping Administrators
- Must have knowledge of the South African Reserve Bank Rules and Regulations as well as be knowledgeable in the Incoterms.
- Review and approve journals prepared by the Shipping Administrators on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Forward Exchange Contracts will be captured by the Shipping Supervisor for further approval by the Treasury Manager.
- Daily Forex reports must be printed and given to the Treasury Manager for final review and approval.

- Drive customer service excellence and ensure good relations and communication with internal and external customers.
- Ability to encourage, develop and implement operational innovation.
- Manage the quarterly rotation on Suppliers and Freight Forwarders of the Shipping Administrators.
- Manage the weekly rotation on loading FX rates and preparing of the PL Contra account against Vehicle Stock Book done by the Shipping Administrators.
- Check that all Invoices were captured correctly and approve if all in order.
- Prepare, examine, or analyse shipping records, or other shipping reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to set business practices and as per the SARB.
- Review and approve Equipment and Parts Costings.
- Review Monthly Reconciliations before sending to the Treasury Manager.
- Review of Revaluation Journals for final approval by the Treasury Manager.
- Review reconciliations and GL reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports, as and when required.
- Ensure proper and timeous communication with and responses to requests for information.

**Requirements you must have**:

- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a shipping or similar environment.
- Minimum Grade 12 with pure mathematics and accounting.
- An accounting certificate/qualification.
- BCom degree or diploma in supply chain management or logistics or similiar preferred.

**Must have competencies**:

- Basic mathematics and accounting principles.
- Knowledge of the import process and the accounting principles and practices that accompany the process.
- Familiar with the South African Reserve Bank Rules and Regulations and Incoterms
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, but not limited to, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Mail, and Power Point.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures included and but not limited to managing files and records, other office procedures and terminology.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
