What will you do?

**Santam Underwriting Risk Management has a Technical Support**: GIS and Risk Analysis role available. The role reports to the Tech Specialist: Risk Analysis & Advice and will be based at the Santam Head Office in Bellville. What will make you successful in this role?

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE**:
**Data collection, cleaning, and analysis**: Perform daily GIS tasks relating to data collection, cleaning and analysis for port spatial and non-spatial data.

**Geocoding of Santam policy data**: Perform the cleaning of address data, followed by geocoding and reverse geocoding.
GIS analysis.
LITool Updates.
Underwriting Viewer Support.
ArcGIS Online Support.
Report writing (presenting research or analysis results). Qualifications and Experience

BSc Geomatics or Geoinformatics or relevant specialist degree.
0 - 3 years’ experience as a GIS Technician.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
An understanding of insurance and related risks (advantageous) Skills

Basic knowledge of disaster risk (floods, fire, etc.)
Coordinate Systems and Map Projections
Must be proficient in the ESRI software suit (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)
GIS data capture, data preparation and analytics
Python scripting skills for customisation and automation will be a benefit.
Geocoding capabilities
Spatial analytics
Research and report writing

**Advance knowledge in MS Office**: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
