We offer deep expertise across the entire customer journey, including communications, commerce, consultancy, CRM, CX, data, production, and technology. **Account Director (AD) (M/F/d)** This is a Full-time role in WPP/Wunderman Thompson, dedicated as lead of a group within one of our largest Accounts in the IT industry. The team is part of a corporate program to execute and land global, regional and local communications in a compliant, standardized and effective manner across the Middle East and Africa region. All this, leveraging global communication programs and sophisticated Modern Marketing engines. The team is comprised of highly skilled Subject Matter Experts on all marketing services / execution / operations and act as the right hand of the field marketers; They are consultants, trusted advisors, and experts on the services they land. Functions range across communications to different audiences (B2B, B2C) and disciplines (event, digital, social, analytics). **What is this role, and how does it positively impact the business?** The Account Director (AD) supports and enables local "last mile" marketing execution through centralized marketing services and provides expertise in marketing tools, engines, and campaigns - including support of the client's Marketing Managers to create and/or refine Marketing Communication plans. They provide end-to-end planning, execution, and analysis services, with tangible positive results for key performance indicators. They also ensure that campaigns are running seamlessly across different systems and tools, so they provide a great experience for our customers and partners. Over and above their MarCom responsibilities, the AD will lead their team looking after the South Africa subsidiary. They will oversee and manage their team members, brief them on the client's marketing initiatives, provide them with continuous coaching and training, and manage the hiring and onboarding of new members. In addition, they will nurture their relationship with the client, set expectations on service delivery and collaborate on campaigns to achieve the KPI targets. They will also provide consultative support and recommendations when necessary. **The Account Director (Team Lead) must deliver across the following eight competency areas**: - Be a strong leader for their team and provide support when needed. - Enable Integrated and Consistent Marketing Execution from Area HQ to Subsidiaries - Provide Project Management and Extensible Service Coverage - Provide Knowledge of Marketing Tools and Services - Be a Consultant and a Trusted Advisor - Privacy and Brand guidelines Gatekeeper - Drive Efficient Localization **Competencies/Skills**: - Experience managing a team. - Proven skills in written and verbal communications; project management; business, systems, and process analysis; conflict resolution; and cross-group collaboration - Fluent in English - Advanced project management strategies and tools - Demonstrated understanding of marketing communications vehicles, tools, and execution, both online and offline - Understanding of Marketing Operations - Ability to articulate and evangelize within the local marketing organization(s) - Relationship management skills collaboration and conflict resolution skills - Understanding of Marketing Automation concepts and implementation **Desired Characteristics**: - Ability to lead and inspire their team - Self-starter with a proactive attitude - Individual contributor able to work effectively across different teams - Analytical aptitude and detail oriented - An interest in marketing and campaign operations - Team player - must focus on winning as a team rather than individually - Detail-oriented - Treat the work as your own and can analyze. - Drive for results - Be tough and persistent and know when to research vs. when to make a quick decision. - Client service oriented - Be positive and optimistic. **Required Experience**: - University degree - 7-10 years of solid marketing communications (agency is a must, client side is a plus), business operations or business consulting experience - B2B Experience preferably in a multinational company **Background: The Team*** - The team standardizes Field Marketing Operations and enables 'local last mile execution' - The team roles across Events, Measurement, Data & Insights and Social Media provide specialist Marketing expertise & insights, whilst the Marcom-Integrated Marketing role provides overal
