Marketplace Operations Manager

This role is focused on delivering the best possible seller experience through flawless and efficient service delivery, continuously improving on and simplifying processes and systems that set the third party merchants up for sustainable scalable growth on our platform.

This is a senior position reporting to the **Head of Marketplace**.

**Job Purpose**
- Develop processes for marketplace operations and systems that enable growth and scale of the platform.
- Continuous improvement of existing processes, operations and systems focused on operational efficiencies, quality improvements and cost reduction.
- Ensure a positive seller experience in all interactions with marketplace processes with focus on seller education and support.
- Management of projects and partnerships focused on new initiatives across the business including commercial, engineering and supply chain.

**Your responsibilities will include**
- Continuous monitoring of merchant experience to ensure that merchant sentiment is positive and the environment facilitates merchant growth and success.
- Partner with key stakeholders from engineering and content management, legal, commercial and wider organizational supply chain teams to help identify opportunities for Marketplace operational business process improvements and opportunities to develop and deliver an autonomous self-service platform for sellers.
- Work closely with support services to ensure that support issues are handled quickly and with accuracy.
- Continuous monitoring of supply chain operations to ensure that merchant operational performance is of a high standard.
- Develop operations to eliminate waste, cut costs and improve delivery times.
- Drive initiatives with the data analysts to continuously improve merchant performance and implement data driven recommendations and strategies.
- Manage team of junior operations managers and analysts to maintain the day to day operations of the marketplace.

- Ability to manage a team to meet deadlines, drive operational excellence
- Self
- starter - be able to take guidance and develop own solutions in sometimes ambiguous circumstances
- Keen interest in 4th generation technology and building automation
- Experience in lean operations and six-sigma
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management
- Strong prioritization and time management skills

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Industrial Engineering or similar degree in Operations Management
- Minimum 4 years of experience
- 2+ years of managing a team
- High proficiency in advanced Excel
- SQL is a plus
- Experience in an e-commerce environment is a plus
