**Main Purpose of the Role**

R-SSC Controller‘s mission is analyze the P&L (above EBITA) reporting of different entities within the Region and ensure the financials are accurate and reliable. The Controller needs to support the Country Management/Managing Director with clear and objective comments on different daily business maters based on the site performance and provide Operations with a means of guidance on its decisions regarding its business performance.

This position entails tight deadlines and a multitude of financial controlling/reporting activities. These include review and preparation of financial reports to Local MD’s and Group, reporting in Encompass, SAP BPC and Plan on, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. The controller will also ensure the control environment is in line with group key controls and policies by performing internal audits, The financial controller will have contact with Business controllers and other departments within the organization as well as interest in the Business Units etc. The Controller will also have contact with MD’s and cost center owners which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. Responsibilities include the ability to implement, lead and drive development of appropriate processes within the accounting team, to ensure that work is accurately completed in a timely manner and to ensure the financial results are reliable, accurate and complete.

**Job-related Requirements**
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a business controlling/financial manager role.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to indirectly supervise and influence other department employees.
- Must be controls and process focused.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and deliver on deadlines.
- Good understanding of financial statements and reports.
- Broad knowledge of financial controlling and reporting
- Good working knowledge of Tax, including VAT, WHT and income tax etc
- Good working knowledge of foreign currency translations and revaluations
- Good working knowledge of preparing and analysing financial statements
- Good working knowledge of local and group financial compliance
- Must have a valid and unendorsed driver’s licence.
- Must be a team player.
- Must possess good time management skills.
- Ability to work long hours of overtime when necessary
- Self Starter who will use own initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a creative and problem-solving approach.
- Previous experience in a Shared Services environment (finance and credit functions) advantageous
- Management experience

**Tertiary Qualification(s)**
- Essential - B Com Accounting with Honours
- CIMA or CA(SA) qualified would be an advantage

**Computer Literacy Level**
- Advanced MS package
- Medium to Advanced Excel knowledge

**Additional Computer Skills**
- SAP ERP/ BPC - advantage

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Review of financial figures in SAP BPC (P/L, B/S, Cash Flow) & comment on deviations against budget both current and prior periods
- Analyze the site results and propose different initiatives to improve the profitability
- Control and review of the G/L closing procedure (SAP) in order to ensure that the various reports have the expected quality
- Reply to queries raised by Group Finance regarding the Group reporting figures
- Organize the interim / year end audit in conjunction with the Accounting Department and centralize all the information / reconciliations for the full region
- Participate in the different stages of the budget process and review the final budget in line with Group Controlling requirements.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end reporting
- Participate in internal audit missions to assess potential risk to manage the control environment.
- Manage group controller visits and ensure any controller visit findings are cleared
- Participate in the Compliance process (Group Company register, SAP/Webcost access / EnCompass/Tax Tools/Planon)
- Review of the risk and opportunities balance sheet files and make the necessary adjustments/elevations etc by working with other RSSC departments and business
- Be the point of contact between business and Group Controlling
- Prepare BBBEE NPAT and cash flow forecasts for stakeholders
- Analyse Net Working Capital and ROIC and advise of means to improve ratios
- Analyse liquidity and solvency ratios for statutory reporting and dividend
- Monitor and action the monthly task lists
- Assess the current procedures and processes to ensure they are efficient and reliable to deliver high quality reporting results and compliance
