**Introduction**:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experience General Accountant with Strong Accounts Payable / Creditors experience to join our team. We are an international Transportation Company based in Isando, Kempton Park. Package compose of a Basic Salary, Pension Fund and Medical Aid benefits.

**Job Function**:
**General**
- Ensure production of accurate and timely reports.
- Oversee and assist Accounts Payable Clerks in the Accounts Payable department as well as the Store admin team.
- Assist in resolving problems and other issues in the department.
- Ensure Accounts Payable deadlines are met consistently and timely.
- Allocate duties to sub ordinates.
- Managing prepaid accounts to ensure sufficient funds are readily available.
- Assist Accounts Manager with duties.
- Stand in for Accounts Manager where required.
- Any other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable and as assigned by the reporting manager.

**Processing**
- Print processing journals and balance function reports from the accounting system daily.
- Balance inter - company accounts on the accounting system.
- Compile VAT reconciliations for all company types.

Reconciliations
- Resolve any outstanding queries or documents with suppliers where required.
- Prepare monthly payments cash flow planning.
- Monthly checks of reconciliations to ensure completeness, accuracy and balancing to the accounting system including checks of : Statement balances to reconciliation balance, payment amount correspondence with planned cash flow, reconciliation balance correspondence to accounting system ledger balance, correct statement date, invoice numbers correspondence to statement, invoice details are correct in terms of VAT eligibility, relevant purchase order attached to invoice and if invoice is approved and validated by the relevant authority.
- Reconciliation of monthly provision invoices.

**Month End**
- Review and post monthly provision journals.
- Review cost of sales journals.
- Review forex revaluations for accounts payable.
- Print and compile month end reports from the accounting system including Trail balances, age analysis, VAT report, balance function and month end function.
- Review month end reports and adjust where required.
- Check intercompany account balances.
- Prepare and compile realised forex.
- Review stock take.
- Monthly checks of stock variances reconciliations to ensure completeness, accuracy, and balancing.
- Preparation and processing of month end provisional and normal journals on the general ledger.
- Reconciliations of all balance sheet items.

**QHSE**
- Ensure all QHSE requirements are adhered to, and relevant policies and procedures are followed

**Minimum Education, Experience Requirements & Core Competencies**
- Matric
- Business Diploma/Degree or any relevant qualification
- Exposure to accounting software programs
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar environment
- High attention to detail
- Proactive approach to role
- Ability to work under pressure
