- Purpose of the Job:
- The Junior Mechanic will be responsible to assist the Diesel Mechanic to inspect, repair and maintain all company vehicles & trucks.- Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for servicing and maintaining all machinery designated to Mechanical Department.- 1. All services to be carried out in accordance with standards as directed.- 2. All services to be attended to in a timely manner.- 3. All services to be carried out professionally, clean, safe and in a manner that is of high quality.- 4. Wear analysis samples to be taken by mechanic.- 5. Ensure all samples are taken as per sampling protocol.- 6. Ensure all relevant service documentation is filled out, signed off and handed to department HOD in a timely manner.- 7. Responsible for attending to all required repair work on machinery.- 8. Attend to breakdowns as directed by HOD.- 9. Repairs to be carried out in a professional manner.- 10. All repairs to be done in accordance with the company and Mechanical quality standards.- 11. Safety protocols to be followed and implemented at all time.- 12. All repair work to be carried out in a safe, clean, and professional manner.- 13. Responsible for inspecting machinery daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually as directed by HOD.- 14. Responsible for general housekeeping of Mechanical Workshop.- 15. Responsible for ensuring that requisitions are handed to HOD in an effective manner to prevent any work from being delayed.- 16. Responsible for ensuring Mechanical Workshop is clean and tidy all the time.-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Qualifications and Experience:
- 1. Grade 12 Certificate- 2. Relevant qualification in either one or more of the following: - Earthmoving Equipment Diesel Mechanic (EME) or - Diesel Mechanic. Section 26D, - apprenticeship preferred, but full training route is required as proof of formal apprentice training.- 3. 0 - 3 years’ experience in a Mechanical role.- 4. Should preferably have Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic knowledge- 5. Ability to read, interpret and understand technical diagrams i) Electrical Diagrams ii) Hydraulic diagrams iii) Pneumatic Diagrams- 6. Strong Technical Aptitude- 7. Be able to work under pressure- 8. Excellent communication skills- 9. Fluent in English (Speak, Read & Write)- 10. Be able to report accurately- Working hours: 06h00 - 15h30- Must reside in the East Rand**What Qualification**
