**Overview**:
This role is based with the automotive manufacturing sector, for a Tier 1 supplier. The position reports in to the Maintenance Manager, and can include supervising Junior Mechanical Technicians and/or trainees.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Matric / Grade 12 / Equivalent
- Fitter OR Fitter and Turner Trade Test
- 3 -5 years Mechanical maintenance experience in a Manufacturing Industry
- Experience in Hydraulics and Pneumatics
- Experience within press/forging environment

**Responsibilities**:
**Production**:

- Maintain required uptime on all machinery and equipment
- Complete all preventative maintenance schedules
- Maintain level of plant and equipment
- Complete all required maintenance log sheets and records
- Assist production personal where required to
- Support Production Engineering

**SHE**:

- Comply with all safety standards as specified
- Ensure safe operation at all times
- Report any un-safe practices

**Quality**:

- Ensure all equipment is maintained according to manufacturers' standards
- Ensure quality is not compromised at any time

**Housekeeping**:

- Plant and machinery to be kept clean and tidy as per requirements of 5S

**Competencies**:

- Interpret drawings
- Thorough understanding of Pneumatics and Hydraulics
- Knowledge in forging processes and CNC machining
- ABB Robotics Knowledge
- Computer literate
- Report writing
- Problem-solving techniques
