Undertake detailed Geological Modelling, Resource Estimation, Reporting and maintenance of the geological database.
- Periodic review of the performance of those models against production and grade control data in order to support development.
- Planning and operational decisions at the Mine. The incumbent will also be responsible for sign off, as Competent Person, on the mine Mineral Resource and Reserve Estimates.
- Geoscience and resource evaluation.
- Develop & implement efficient/effective protocols, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure good track record of constructive interfacing with and influencing personnel from all related functions/departments.
- Project planning scheduling, implementation, and control.
- Developing of detailed models for Mineral Resource Estimation.
- Developing detailed grade control models.
- Produce resource models for the mine required, projects, and scenario evaluation as and when required.
- Validate data as required for the Resource evaluation process.
- Geological evaluation of resources, including identification of risks.
- Estimation of Mineral Resource.
- Periodical mining models (grade control; reserves and resource) Integrate and optimization.
- Compile the report and supporting documentation of a competent person.
- Ensure compliance with relevant reporting codes and standards (e.g., SAMREC), including applicable legal requirements.
- Delivering and developing of robust procedures, processes, and capabilities in the resource evaluation domain, including sound protocols and controls to support the workflow of resource evaluation.
- Develop and implement plans for improvement of current systems.
- Development of an integrated and constructive working relationship with operational, project and support staff to ensure that resource evaluation activities and improvements are aligned and supported by all stake holders.
- Provide quality technical advice as required, including review of major plans and proposals.
- Recommending and implementing of technology improvements to sustain improved performance in the resource evaluation domain.
- Develop reconciliation classification and reconciliation techniques from mineral resource, ore reserve, grade control model and metallurgy recoveries models.

**Requirements**:

- B.Sc. (Hons.) Geology (minimum)
- Professional registration (SACNASP or equivalent).
- 7 years post-graduation experience in Exploration and/or a Mining environment (preferably on Bushveld geology).
- Experience in resource modelling and estimation, with a focus on Chrome and PGEs.
- Expert User in the use of geological modelling and geological data/information management software (preferably Minex).
- Must have a good understanding of SAMREC/SAMVAL codes.
- Competent Person sign-off of Resource and Reserve Estimates.
- Critical thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Judgment and decision-making: Consideration of the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to select the most appropriate course of action.
- Complex problem solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to evaluate options and develop appropriate solutions.
- Ability to understand the practical mining implications of geological decisions.
- Must be medically fit
