**Overview**:
The Site Manager will be responsible for HSE and Business risk management and mitigation, continuous improvement and legal compliance.

Effective management and conflict resolution of various inter-department role players on site e.g. Sales, Finance and Operations.

All duties and activities of the Site Manager is aimed at delivering a Cost-effective and client responsive site. The Site Managers position is a legal OHSACT 16.2 appointment accompanied by the related responsibilities.

The Site Manager will be responsible for managing operational and project budgets. The Site Manager will be responsible for manufacturing products in compliance with our quality control. All deliverables will be supportive of contributing to Profits and eliminating unnecessary costs.

**Qualifications**:
Appropriate Degree (Chemical, Mechanical/Industrial or a Production Management qualification)
Post graduate qualification advantageous

**Experience**:
10 years’ experience in Chemical or equivalent environment.

5 years’ experience in Senior Role.

Previous Site General Management experience.

**Duties**:
Cost-effective site operations:

- Operations plan with full resource planning to enable achievement of operational (warehouse, production) and logistics targets.
- Set operational and logistics objectives and quality standards.
- Manage site within budget parameters.
- Optimised and continuous improved of operations, infrastructure and resources to eliminate cost and advance service delivery, that includes considering alternative cost-saving operational, storage and delivery processes.

Prevented/mitigated site operational, delivery and production risk:

- Enable safe and conducive work environments by e.g., managing compliance to group and Protea policies, objectives and objective changes, Codes of Practice e.g. SHEQ, etc.
- Pre-empt potential obstacles to optimal performance and find solutions to address potential non-performance, interrupted performance.
- Systems for maintenance to prevent/minimize any interruption or downtime in warehousing, production and distribution.
- Customer satisfaction: Set and embed customer service standards to enable informed and optimally serviced clients.
- Timeous procurement of site-specific products/services.
- Service reliability.
- Investigating and resolving client issues.
- Site-relevant conducive client relations
- Develop constructive relations with regional clients around warehousing, production and distribution.
- Enabled site operations delivering quality products and services
- Clearly defined delivery and performance objectives
- Availability of appropriate finances, people technologies, systems, clearly defined processes to enable performance and delivery.
- Performance enhancing and cost-effective ergonomics
- Work climate supporting performance and service excellence.
- Skilled and motivated people

Health, Safety and Environment - Monitor and review performance against HS&E KPIs, and patterns of behaviour within the area of responsibility; Take action improve performance and to resolve non-compliance with the organization's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions.

For example, stays focused on plans and improvises in response to changes, including risks and contingencies. Aligns own team's work with other workgroups'. Looks ahead to determine and obtain needed resources to complete plans.
