Project Manager

**Duties and responsibilities**

**Project estimating**
- Accurate estimating of projects from tender documents, client specification or site visit.
- Client / Consultant liaising
- Drafting of tender documents for submission
- Completion of technical data sheets and pricing schedules
- All Tenders / Quotes to be signed off by Technical Director

**Project initiating and management**
- Order acknowledgement and opening of jobs
- Project implementation from date of order.
- Project administration - saving all relevant information correctly (M&I lists, specifications, drawings, project schedules & deviations)
- Initiate, issue & maintain project program in line with project schedule
- Work flow scheduling in conjunction with technical directors and team leaders
- Issue design criteria to draftsman, ensuring compliance with specification design, internal approval & obtaining client approval
- Obtain mandatory agreements, H&S specification & issue to responsible H&S person for file assembly
- Attend Project Meetings
- Issuing of requisitions to procurement timeously
- Keeping record of deviations or variations, costing the required variations and obtaining client approval on the required deviations
- Drawing up cable schedules, material requisitions and issuing to procurement for purchasing
- Maintain project file checklist & QC documentation
- Ensure regular feedback from site electrician regarding progress and material used
- Compiling monthly payment certificates, issuing to directors for approval and following up on client approval and payment
- Managing of Sub-Contractors
- Make sure your team know what to do on a project and that they complete the work according to specifications and high standards.
- Ensure contract is managed in terms within the specific contract conditions
- Check up on your team leaders and make sure they are fulfilling their duties and responsibilities when it comes to managing their teams in all areas eg. tools, vehicles, material, uniforms, work standards and health and safety etc.

**Project hand over and closing**
- Ensure project is completed on time, in accordance with specifications and Black Arc quality management.
- Internal FAT of MCC’s, client FAT & final commissioning on site
- On Site dry commissioning, Instrumentation Set up and Wet Commissioning
- Project Hand over testing with client / consultant.
- Ensure Snags are addressed promptly and correctly.
- Ensure all AS BUILT Information is correctly documented
- Draft and issue documentation for Operations and Maintenance Manuals
- Overall sign off of project file & issue to directors for close out
- Obtaining client sign off/practical completion

**Administration and general**
- Design Package house-keeping, including job file and engineering file maintenance.
- Omni System Maintenance, Material database management and upkeep.
- Constant system development to ensure productive engineering environment with the emphasis on quality and efficiency

**Uniforms**
- Collared, button up or golf shirt and smart pants and shoes to be worn daily.
- Standard PPE requirements for site work

**Health and Safety**
- General health and safety rules are to be followed whilst at work, and the correct PPE is to be worn when working with tools and/or equipment. You also have to make sure that your team is abiding by these rules at all times

**Vehicles**
- A Company Vehicle will be made available to you for use to site from the office/workshop.
- Log your vehicle millage
- Check vehicle oil, water and tire pressure once a week

**Qualifications**
- National Diploma - Electrical Engineering (Minimum)
- Wiremans License - preferable
- Experience
- Knowledge of GCC, FIDIC contracts
- Good leadership and time management abilities
- Passion for this line of work
- Neatness and first time right approach
- Good with paperwork and procedures
- Excellent customer and phone etiquette
- Driver’s License
