**Responsibilities**
- Implement health, safety and environmental management systems.
- Analyze risks and develop plans to mitigate risks.
- Conduct on-mine audits and develop procedures to address shortcomings identified.
- Develop procedures to address emergencies, dealing with hazardous substances, fire management, audits etc.
- Analyze changes in legislation and advise management accordingly.
- Investigate incidents (with or without personal injury) and dangerous occurrences and report with recommendations for prevention to site management and to prepare statistics.
- Implement safety programs and lead operating crew members to adopt safe work practices.
- Ensuring that all procedures and processes are in place for optimal safety, security and quality.
- Ensure the plant and associated equipment are operated in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Management of environmental systems.

**Qualifications**
- Competent A certificate will be an advantage
- Safety Management Diploma and a Blasting Certificate will be an added advantage.
- Must have 3 years relevant experience as a Safety Health and/or Environmental coordinator. Have good understanding in legal requirements pertaining to Quality, Environment and/or Occupational Health and Safety in South Africa
- Communication and negotiation skills, including ability to influence without direct authority; Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization; Client Focus, SHEQ knowledge

**Salary**: R25,500.00 per month
