- Reporting to the CEO- Duties:
- Assist in compliance reviews, process and non-process risk assessment and other EHS assessments as required- COVID-19 Compliance Officer duties as required by the Health Regulations- Maintain all relevant EHS documentation both hard copy (as required) and electronically on the intranet- Assist in overall compliance of applicable EHS related laws, regulations and standards applicable to the organisation- Coordinate consultants/service providers performing specialised/independent services on site- Prepare quarterly EHS reports as necessary especially where updates on major aspect/projects are undertaken- Lead emergency and incident management by coordinating the necessary emergency management measures- Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis on all EHS related incidents including near miss events- Assist with hospitalisation and associated care for IOD cases including the up-front documentation required- Promote incident prevention measures for the benefit of employees and visitors- Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers, employees, customers and regulatory authorities- Arrange occupational hygiene assessments as required and implement action plans to manage hygiene risk- Compile and distribute monthly EHS Toolbox Talks to managers on general and pertinent EHS topics- Chair the quarterly EHS Committee Meetings and provide minutes for action by the relevant parties- Maintain OHSAct legal appointments for newly trained or re-trained employees as necessary- Assist the Plant Manager and Radiation Consultant with the nuclear requirements/ CoR implementation- Arrange internal and external training initiatives (including driven machinery) as required by law and best practice- Conduct annual EHS inductions for employees and contractors- Compile, implement and manage IHS policies and procedures- Source quotes and request purchases/services for EHS related management on site- Conduct ongoing visual inspections of individuals working, departments and projects on site- Assist managers with contractor management of EHS requirements such as safety files, inductions etc- Identify hazards and associated risks and assist operational staff with mitigating such risk as identified- Perform other work related tasks as occasionally required and assigned to by the CEO- Lead and drive implementation of EHS action plans relating to the high-risk projects or unexpected events- Clinic:
- Oversee and assist clinic with staff wellness and primary occupational health function as required- Housekeeping:
- Manage housekeeping team and the continuous implementation of this organisation function to manage risk-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Matric + Diploma in Health and Safety- Record of courses completed/experience pertaining to:
- Health and Safety requirements per the OSH Act 85- Conducting Baseline Risk Assessment and issue Based Risk Assessments- Completed and conducted Legal Liability courses in terms of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management- Experience: Minimum 8-10 years full function experience in similar environment- Computer literate - MS Office- Skills:
- Sound knowledge of OHS Act- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work- Presentation and facilitation skills- Compiling reports and writing policies- Competencies: Accountability, initiative, pro-active, analytical, problem solving, situational awareness, assertiveness**What Qualification**
