Job Description:
My client, a leader in astronomy and highly optimised reflectors within South Africa currently has an opportunity available at their production facility. This innovative engineering company is currently looking to recruit a Quality Controller.

The successful incumbent will need to have Matric or equivalent qualification and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in PCB assembly related quality control.

Position details:
To take ownership of and responsibility for all PCB and PCB assembly quality control related matters including, but not limited to, performing incoming inspections and in-process inspections.
Ensure bare PCBs and PCB assemblies received conform to IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610 class 3 requirements, work/assembly instructions and specific customer/company requirements.
Ensure defects identified are documented and addressed with the subcontractor
To continuously collaborate with quality assurance, inventory control and technical staff to analyse and improve quality control systems and processes.

Eager to take ownership and be accountable.
Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to prioritise and multi-task.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with management and staff at all levels.
Flexible enough for an SME environment.
Capable of working in a highly technical environment.
A general attitude of serving others to achieve a common goal.
Ability to work and solve problems independently.

Location : Somerset-West, Cape Town

Job Qualification & Experience:
Matric or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in PCB assembly related quality control
IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (or equivalent) certification would be an advantage
PCB assembly soldering (SMT including fine pitch and 0402 as well as TH) experience would be an advantage
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Solid knowledge and understanding of quality assurance processes, policies and systems
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Detailed knowledge of implementing and maintaining ISO certified quality management systems
Knowledge of and experience working with ERP/MRP system(s)

**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 12 months
