**Signal Hill Products is looking for a Laboratory Technician**

**Position/Title: Laboratory Technician**
**Reports Too: Quality Assurance Manager**
**Function Quality**
**Area South Africa**
**Number of Reports 0**

**Overall Responsibility**:
The Laboratory Technician responsibilities will include conducting and supporting scientific investigations and experiments. planning, setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and trials. recording and analyzing data.

**Focus Area 1:Trade Quality Management**
Conduct regular Trade Visits Management of stock age and review, approve/reject stock age concessions.
Management of accident/shifted loads and compiling quality reports.
Management of block stock and returning stock from trade.
Conducting traceability, recall and withdrawals
Coordinate stock upliftment from trade.
Coordinate disposal of isolated stock.
Conducting warehouse/ depot audits and driving housekeeping at the Depo level.
On the job informal training and education to outlet staff and Sales reps.
Management of repacking and training of staff.
Conduct Product Stock surveys to allow for the identification of sources of rotation issues and improvement areas
Responsible for execution, implementation and assessment of long term
Trade quality strategy and Goals in Sales and Distribution.
Management of customer complaints& trend analysis
Driving problem solving of Customer and Consumer complaints
Prompting consumer complaint trends to Marketing teams
Develop and update SOPs related to trade activities, stock age management, complaints handling, etc
Monitoring outlets tap hygiene compliance
Conduct internal audits on traceability systems Initiate Mock recalls

**Requirements of the Role**
NSC Matric Certificate with Core Maths, Biology, Science
Tertiary degree/diploma in food science, or related field.
2-3 year experience in a packaging lab or Quality environment
Sensory analysis experience advantageous
Drivers license & Own Vehicle essential
Passport required Required to travel across SA and Africa

**Preferred Skills/Competencies**
Computer proficient
Good communication
Good self-management skills
