**Job Requirements**
- BSC Degree in any Relevant field (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular)
- Registered with HPCSA in specialty discipline (non-negotiable)
- Minimum one years’ experience as a qualified Medical Technician
- Previous experience in a Lab advantageous
- Must possess a strong eye for detail
- Strong written and Verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills

Assisting with performing tasks in the laboratory under the supervision of a HPCSA registered Medical Technologist. These functions and duties are not limited to:

- Recording of temperatures, with corrective actions where applicable
- Maintenance of equipment use for analysis according to the maintenance record sheets
- Trouble shooting of analyzers
- Ensuring all controls and calibrations are done in accordance with the Internal Quality Control plan
- Decontamination of all equipment bench tops
- Daily routine work for the laboratory in order to achieve efficient and cost-effective service
- Reagent preparation when necessary
- Record Keeping
- Verification and sign-out of laboratory results only under the supervision of a Medical Technologist
- Give out results telephonically under the supervision of a Medical Technologist
