**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:

- Crafting Strong, purposeful product propositions
- Landing integrated brand plans in-year with the cross functional team
- Developing multi-year Integrated Brand Plans, aligned to the category strategy and growth priorities
- Effectively managing the Brand’s budget, to achieve zero forecast bias, on a quarterly basis
**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:
**Manage all categories in their entirety (Foodservice including QSR, Potato; Fries and Specialty Potatoes, Vegetables and Appetisers)**:
- Oversee the categories as a whole
- Compile marketing plans
- Launch new products into the market
- Ensure all marketing plans are executed timeously and accurately
- Attend and manage status meetings with agencies to ensure that promotions are within timeframe and within budget
- Work co-operatively with category and sales team to ensure operational implementation
**Develop a comprehensive Brand Plan to achieve the marketing and commercial objectives set**:
- Compile and analyse market trends, data and global input to inform strategic choices for the brand
- Review category and commercial performance to inform how strategic objectives will impact commercial and marketing outcomes
- Develop annual brand plans in collaboration with category and sales teams to ensure full integration of objectives, activities and plans
- Compile marketing campaigns based on approved brand plans, including measurable KPIs
- Roll out the marketing campaign accurately and timeously
- Ensure that campaign is within approved budget by approving cost estimates up front
Compile post campaign analysis/ research in order to establish if objectives were achieved
**Assist the Marketing Manager in the development of annual and future innovation plans**:
- Assist in the implementation and co-ordination of innovation plans
- Develop new packaging for new products as and when applicable
- Research market to see if proposed new products are viable
- Decide on products to be launched
- Develop detailed actions regarding the products to launch and their launch schedule.
- Management of the concept research testing programme against required standards
- Launch new products timeously and enter new segments that provide growth opportunities
- Post launch reviews and analysis up to 18 months post launch
**Assist the Marketing Manager to achieve budget, Gross Profit, Nett Sales Value and Volume**:
- Achieve annual GP through the implementation of brand plans with defined targets, plans to drive targets, innovation and communication plans
- Assist in managing GP in terms of promotions and innovation
- Play an advisory and collaborative role in terms of pricing and discounts
- Manage profit and loss, per product and contribution towards total objective
- Manage monthly marketing meetings to ensure that there is consensus on the point of sales, etc.
- Provide sales team with support by attending meetings, seeing customers
- Monitor and report on return on investment
**Manage the marketing and communication strategy**:
- Ensure that the vision and values forms part of the overall strategy to meet marketing objectives
- Keep constant contact and build relationship with media and external suppliers
- Liaise with Chefs and industry related bodies
- Work closely with young chefs and the South African Chefs Association
**Manage general administration and meetings**:
Meetings (cross functionally)
- Process all Purchase Orders and invoices
- EDW - Enterprise Data Warehouse - sales reporting and linking to SAP
- SAP - Purchase order and Invoicing
- Export orders and foreign language labels
**Compile and submit reports**:
- Compile reports on all campaigns, budgets and actual spent to be approved by Marketing Manager
- Compile reports on marketing releases
**EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum 5 - 7 years in a FMCG environment in brand management. Require three to four years’ experience at Brand Manager level (FMCG). Previous food experience will be advantageous.
- Previous exposure to packaging and advertising legislation would be beneficial.
