**Position: Procurement Officer**
**Location: Somerset West, Cape Town (In Office)**
**Reporting to: Procurement Manager(primary), Project Manager, and Operations Manager**
**Experience required: Minimum 10 years Post Qualification in procurement or related roles**
**Contract: 12 (Twelve) months fixed term, with potential for permanent placement.**
**Job Summary**: The Procurement Officer will be responsible for executing and coordinating all procurement activities to ensure the cost-effective, timely, and compliant acquisition of goods and services. The role blends strategic sourcing and supplier management with hands-on project support, requiring strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive sense of ownership in meeting project and operational objectives.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
- **Strategic & Planning**:_
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- **Operational Execution**:_
- Source goods and services through RFQs and tendering processes.
- Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and reliability.
- Manage supplier contracts and maintain accurate vendor databases.
- Process and track purchase requisitions and orders, ensuring authorization and timely delivery.
- Coordinate logistics, shipping documentation, and delivery follow-up.
- **Compliance & Reporting**:_
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain procurement registers, inventory records, and audit documentation.
- Prepare procurement reports to support project and management reviews.
- Forecast procurement needs and prepare detailed procurement plans.
**Required Skills & Knowledge**:
- Proficient in ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication for supplier and project coordination.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
**Required Education & Qualifications**:
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Management (required; higher qualifications advantageous).
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in procurement, preferably within an engineering or industrial environment.
- Proven experience in procurement and/or project management functions.
- Valid driver’s license.

**This is a full-time, on-site position. Remote work is not available.**
**Closing date: 31 October 2025**
Pay: R25 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
