- Position Overview:_

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Commis 1 to join our team onboard one of our luxury cruise ships. As a Commis 1, you will work closely with our Executive Chef and Sous Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our onboard kitchen.
- Key Responsibilities:_
- Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in the daily preparation of meals for guests and crew members
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to company standards and recipes
- Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in the kitchen
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food and supplies
- Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff
- Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure a seamless operation in the kitchen
- Adapt to changes in the menu and assist in creating new dishes
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Qualifications:_
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Commis 1 or similar role in a high-volume kitchen
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to changing schedules
- Positive attitude and a passion for food and cooking
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and background check

Pay: R22 165,00 - R23 000,00 per month
