Head of Department Natural and Built Environment

To provide leadership and operational oversight of the Natural and Built Environment Division (comprising Infrastructure and Maintenance, Building Control and Natural Environment) by coordinating cognate teams to foster exchange of ideas, synergy in operations and provide cross-team learning opportunities whilst ensuring that all work and projects are delivered timeously and accurately

**1. **Strategic and operational plans, policies and procedures**
Provide input into the development of the Departments strategic and operational plan
and implementation thereof.
Participate and advise on policy development and implementation thereof.
Budget management:
Provide input into the annual department budget for the Division
Compile monthly and annual management reports Operational and financial (in relation to the budget) for the Division
Compile the financial expense budget for the Division.
Review the Divisions performance and make recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure that the Divisional Teams are fully aware of their duties. Responsibility and performance indicators in accordance with strategic plan.
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance and risk
management of all business processes within the Division.
Lead the implementation of service delivery improvement programmes and Business
systems enhancement for the Division.
Prepare and present reports on Divisions progress against goals and strategies.
Ensure Compliance to legislative requirements
Ensure all procedures and processes comply with required legislation and/or corporate
policies.
Report on internal audit findings within required timeframe and lead the implementation of the required corrective actions..
Monitor and report accurately and timeously on implementation on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Manage the implementation of approved policies and procedures.
**2. **Occupational Health and Safety and Risk Management**
Manage full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85, 1993 and regulations.by implementing all health and safety procedures, relevant requirements andregulations:
Develop, implement and manage an organisation wide SHEQ Strategy and System that will ensure compliance with legislation and a safe and healthy working environment for all stakeholders.
Develop, implement and manage a hazard Identification & risk assessment programme.
Develop, Implement and manage an organisation wide SHEQ Awareness and
Training.
Ensure that operational tasks are carried out safely to prevent personal injury or
injury to other members, guests and/or company staff and in accordance with Z Safety & Health Policies.
Develop and implement the Disaster Management Plan for company
Develop Risk Registers and Risk Mitigation Plans
**3. **Building control, Environment andInfrastructure, Maintenance & Facilities Building Control**:
Ensure design, construction and maintenance of all buildings comply with the ArchitecturalBuilding and Landscaping Code, Building Standards. This also includes correctivemaction.
Monitor the implementation of all decisions to the relevant Committee/s.
Manage and control of risks and requirementsmas defined in the Occupational Health &
Safety Act, municipal by-laws, government legislation and SABS codes.
Monitor and report on compliance with contract SLAs by focusing efficiency and
reduce operating costs while increasing productivity.
**4. **Natural Environment**
Ensure that all biodiversity on estate Facilities / Access Points / Golf Course and common areas including residential property are held to environmental compliance.
Monitor the implementation of all decisions to the relevant Committee/s.
Manage and control of risks and requirements as defined in the Occupational Health &
Safety Act, municipal by-laws, government legislation.
Monitor and report on compliance with contract SLAs by focusing efficiency and reduce operating costs while increasing productivity.
**5. **Infrastructure, Maintenance & Facilities**:
Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out by service providers.
Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI''s) ensuring that Health, Safety and
