The position is based fulltime at the offices in Cape Town during the week. After hours, overtime or weekend / standby will be a requirement. **No hybrid/ remote working conditions.**

The individual **must have a valid drivers license** and ideally have their own car.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Manage, monitor, and configure servers and infrastructure components in the Cloud and Hosting facilities.
- Oversee physical and virtual server environments, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Perform automated backups for both company and customer data, ensuring data integrity.
- Investigate and resolve issues, visiting server stations to diagnose and implement solutions.
- Schedule routine maintenance tasks on assigned physical and virtual servers to minimize downtime and keep systems up to date.
- Respond swiftly to critical situations, such as hardware failures, DDoS attacks, and external threats.
- Proactively identify issues and recommend solutions by understanding customer technical and business environments.
- Contribute to team development by creating technical documentation and manuals.
- Document work performed and maintain communication within provided systems.
- Collaborate with the Support team to address customer needs effectively.
- Collaborate with third-party software vendors for troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent problem resolution skills.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

**Minimum requirements in order to be considered for the role**:

- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Tertiary qualifications such as CompTIA Linux, LPI, RHCE, RHCA, VCP, or equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Linux Operating Systems and Windows Servers.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies: VMware, XEN, KVM, Proxmox.
- Intermediate Networking knowledge would be beneficial.
- Additional knowledge in cPanel/WHM/WHMCS, Apache/Nginx, DNS, MySQL, is beneficial.
- Experience in monitoring and managing automated backups.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Proven track record of effectively resolving technical issues.
- Working hours: 8am -5pm Mon - Fri - after hours/ weekend work will be required.
- Valid Drivers license/ own car

**Salary**: R25,000.00 - R35,000.00 per month
