**Team Management**:
Define and manage outputs of the architect team.
Define and manage outputs of the enterprise data management team
Perform CPA and development plans for direct staff

**Enterprise Architecture**:
Provide architectural & technical direction to enable Glacier’s strategy and IT objectives
Represent Glacier in various architectural forums within Glacier and Sanlam
Oversee adherence to the architecture strategy, principles and framework throughout IT
Defining the technology solution and environment roadmaps to ensure capacity and scalability, as demand and usage evolve within the business. This will be obtained through having visibility and understanding of the entire technology landscape
Working with Key Technology Partners to ensure the implementation of the Roadmaps and Standards
Identifying, assessing and communicating risks related to the Roadmap
Leading the definition and validation of architecture principles and standards
Defining a full Technical Architectural Roadmap for
Communicating architecture and IT standards to all stakeholders and ensure standards are published, updated and adhered to
Ensure that best practices, standards and guidelines as followed to ensure best solution and architecture design is implemented.
Ensure that working documents of the current and new systems are created and maintained.
Support the solution architecture team and participate in Solution design and Involved in Projects to ensure correct architectural guidelines are followed (fit for purpose solutions) What will make you successful (Continued)
Enterprise Data Management
- Direct and oversee the design and development of systems used for managing data such as data warehouses, data stores, and other business intelligence systems.
- Represent Glacier in various data and information management forum within Glacier and Sanlam
- Creating and enforcing policies for effective data management
- Formulating management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data
- Devising and implementing efficient and secure procedures for data management and analysis with attention to all technical aspects What will make you successful (Continued)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

**The appropriate skills and knowledge for the role include**:
Ability to effectively lead and inspire a team
At least 5 years work experience as manager and leading a team
A thorough understanding of technologies and solution architecture discipline
Experience in aligning roadmaps to strategy
Strategic mindset and proven record of delivery on enterprise projects
Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.)
Familiarity with modern database and storage solutions
An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills

Qualification and Experience
BSC in Computer Science degree or equivalent
Relevant IT Technical Skill and experience in I.T. Architecture as well exposure to Data Management principles
At least 5 years experience working in the financial services I.T. sector
