** **has a vacant position at the level of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer.

**Responsibilities**:
***
- Present lectures to Undergraduate and Honours Students;
- Develop new course/module material as well as practical guides for undergrad, Honours modules and/or Short Learning Programmes (SLPs);
- Participate in research production and supervision of undergraduate, Honours and Postgraduate students in the department/Faculty;
- Participation in voluntary associations and/or professional bodies;
- Participation in department administration

**Minimum requirements**:
**Senior Lecturer**
- A PhD qualification (MSc/MEng/MTech/MPhil) in Mine Surveying, Engineering Surveying or Land Surveying
- Strong commitment to teaching and research;
- Ability to perform research, teaching and administration simultaneously;
- Be registered or be eligible to register as a Professional Geomatics practitioner in the category Mine Surveying, Engineering Surveying or Land Surveying through the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC).Master’s degree (preferably a PhD) in Mining/Surveying or a closely related and recognised qualification;
- A minimum of three years industrial experience.

**Lecturer Post
- A Masters qualification (MSc/MEng/MTech/MPhil) in Mine Surveying, Engineering Surveying or Land Surveying

**Competencies and Behavioural Attributes**:

- A knowledge of Geographic Information Systems will be an advantage.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with high level of proficiency in English
- Good oral communication in at least one other language
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Computer literacy including MS Office (MS Word and Excel)
