Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (AC.08.4) Southern Centre for Inequality Studies (SCIS), Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa. Permanent position at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. Description The Department of Political Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand is looking to appoint one (1) new member of academic staff at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. The successful candidate will be expected to integrate into the Department’s lifeworld through teaching large and diverse classes across all years of study, cooperating with colleagues in advancing departmental objectives, and contributing actively to the intellectual and administrative life of the Department and University. We particularly encourage applications from scholars who have knowledge of, and are prepared to teach in, the Politics of Development and/or Comparative Politics. Qualifications and Requirements PhD required for both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer levels. Experience with university teaching and supervision of post‑graduate students. Established publication record (advantage at both levels). Track record of academic administration and fundraising (advantage at Senior Lecturer level).
